Prof Marius Ungerer
Professor and Faculty Member at USB
Marius Ungerer is currently a professor and a core faculty member at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, where he teaches strategic management. Since 2008, he has successfully supervised seven completed PhDs and more than 150 masters’ degrees. His publications include 11 books with co-authors, 26 peer-reviewed journal publications and 23 publications in popular business magazines. He received three Rector’s awards from Stellenbosch University for outstanding performance and USB recognised him in 2017 with the “Most inspirational lecturer on the MBA “award. In 2018 he received a Research Excellence award in the category research outputs award by the Vice-Rector Research, University of Stellenbosch.
Dr Armand Bam
Head: Social Impact and Senior Lecturer in Business in Society at the University of Stellenbosch Business School
Dr Armand Bam is Head of Social Impact at the University of Stellenbosch Business School. He is also a senior lecturer in Business in Society on the MBA programme and Quality and Integrity in Leadership on the Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership Development with a focus on NPOs. As the lead author his work on student reflections titled Transformative learning through social engagement: Reflections on responsible leadership development in management education received the Best Paper Award at the International Business Conference in 2019.
Prof Mark Smith
Director at the University of Stellenbosch Business School
Mark Smith is a seasoned academic and highly acclaimed researcher who is skilled in the dissemination of academic knowledge. Over several years, he has published in or made contributions to well over 70 academic books and journals. His research areas include youth employment policy, the integration of ethics across the business world, gender and the labour market, the role of business in social innovation, and the transition from education to employment.
Adwoa Opoku-Nyarko
Marketing Manager at USB Executive Development
Adwoa is currently Marketing Manager at USB-ED and an MPhil in Development Finance alumnus at the University of Stellenbosch Business School. She has a passion for solving problems and enabling success.
In addition to this, she is currently lecturing on the Strategic Analysis module of the University of Stellenbosch Business School’s MBA programme. Facilitating on this module provides her with the opportunity to talk about pertinent issues such as sustainability, social entrepreneurship, inclusivity and development.
