Most of us have been personally and professionally affected by the pandemic in some way or another. In many instances, gender-related expectations and norms have created even more challenges for us. In our very special Leader’s Angle Series event, our panelists share their experiences of how they have adapted their practices and ideologies in order to successfully navigate the changes and challenges to do with gender in this era of hyper-change.

Prof Anita Bosch

Anita Bosch holds a PhD from the School of Management at the University of Southampton. She is a Professor at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, where she heads research on women at work and teaches in the organisational behaviour and leadership tracks. She is the editor of the annual Women’s Report of the SABPP, which is in its 8th year and has published numerous public reports, articles and book chapters on diversity and women’s issues. Her work spans the field of women at work including leadership, identity, structural inequality and policy.

Prof Mark Smith

Director at the University of Stellenbosch Business School

Mark Smith is a seasoned academic and highly acclaimed researcher who is skilled in the dissemination of academic knowledge. Over several years, he has published in or made contributions to well over 70 academic books and journals. His research areas include youth employment policy, the integration of ethics across the business world, gender and the labour market, the role of business in social innovation, and the transition from education to employment.

Nompumelelo Mokou

Managing Director at Dimension Data and USB Alumnus of the Year 2020: Business Leadership

Nompumelelo Mokou is the Managing Director of Dimension Data Southern Africa. She is a Chartered Accountant who has a heart for business, holds a Bachelor of Accountancy, CA (SA) from Wits University, and has completed her MBA through the University of Stellenbosch Business School. Her industry expertise includes strategy, leadership and people management, accounting and finance, board and committee experience.

Phillipa Geard

CEO & Founder at

Phillipa Geard is the Founder and CEO of multi-award winning company, an innovative online recruitment agency for forward-thinking companies, looking for top-calibre female skills. Phillipa Graduated from UCT with a Bachelor in Business Science degree and had a successful career with FMCG giant Procter and Gamble working both locally and internationally before becoming an entrepreneur. More recently she launched RecruitAGraduate, an online platform designed to make the hiring of graduates and interns effortless. Both are full service agencies.  She is a wife, mother and a social entrepreneur at heart.

Dr Natasha Winkler-Titus

Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Leadership at USB

Natasha Winkler-Titus holds a PhD in Organisational Psychology and is registered with the Health Professions Council South Africa (HPCSA). She currently serves as President of the society of work psychologists in SA (SIOPSA), and also serves as International Expert Panellist for the Centre for Global Inclusion.
