Prof Meshach Aziakpono

Head: Development Finance Programmes at the University of Stellenbosch Business School

Meshach Aziakpono (PhD) is a Professor of Development Finance. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Economics and Statistics with a Second Class Hons Upper Division in 1994 at the University of Benin; a Master of Science degree in Economics in 1998 at the University of Ibadan, and a PhD in Economics in 2008 at the University of the Free State. His research has focused on the broad areas of financial integration and financial sector development and monetary policy issues in Africa with strong emphasis in applied econometrics.

Tasneem Motala

Head: Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management and Administration Programme at the University of Stellenbosch Business School

Tasneem Motala holds a chemical engineering degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN), and an MBA (Cum Laude) from the USB. She joined academia in 2016 after nine years in the Oil and Gas industry, working for multinational petroleum refiners. Most of her engineering career was spent in process control, where she was responsible for leading a number of process optimisation initiatives.

Tasneem currently designs and delivers Operations Management related modules on the MBA and Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) programs at the USB. She is also the head of the PGDip in Business Management and Administration. Her research interests lie in the fields of operational excellence, employee engagement and process optimisation. Tasneem also facilitates modules on Executive Education programmes in South Africa and its neighbouring countries.
