Mentorship Programmes

You can help to build the next generation of business leaders and pioneers by registering to become a mentor. There are two mentorship programmes you can get involved in:

Assist students on the MBA, MPhil in Development Finance or MPhil in Management Coaching by mentoring them. This typically includes mentoring students doing their research assignments in your area of expertise or planning a career path in your field of expertise.

The first step to registering as a mentor is completing a short questionnaire. As part of this questionnaire you need to indicate your availability, preferred scope of mentorship and areas of expertise. Upon completion you will be added to our mentor database and connected with students who have requested mentorship. A mentorship orientation programme is presented annually on campus and online to assist alumni to prepare for their mentorship role.

Alumni who have participated in the mentorship programme have all provided positive feedback about their involvement. The sharing of business knowledge, industry know-how and life experience is seen as really meaningful by our alumni.

If you require additional assistance you can contact the USB Alumni Office directly at USBAlumni@usb.ac.za

Mentor small business owners from low-income communities who are registered for the nine-month SBA Development Programme at USB’s Small Business Academy.
