MBAs meet NPOs – What do they learn?
By Dr Armand Bam and Prof Arnold Smit
At USB, students follow a Business in Society Module as part of the MBA. This involves engagement with NPOs and their leaders, followed by a written report on what the students had learnt through this practice-based, service-learning project. We recently took at closer look at 201 of these reports to see what collective insights emerged from the data. Four overarching themes stood out.
PRME SIP Report, 2018
This is the University of Stellenbosch Business School’s Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) Report on the implementation of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). In this report, we provide an account of how we make the link between our understanding of our identity, mission and values, our allegiance to the PRME, and what is transpiring in our academic work and institutional life in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals.
