Our Management Programme for NPOs promotes social development in South Africa.

Stellenbosch Business School’s Management Programme for NPOs focuses on promoting social development in South Africa by enhancing managerial effectiveness, service delivery and good governance in the NPO sector. To be sustainable, NPOs must be managed efficiently and have the ability to attract, secure and retain funding.

The NPO Management programme will run from 21 to 25 October this year. Contact Jeanne Kuhn at 021 918 4288 for more information about the programme or the application form.

Ulen Afrika

Meet Ulen Afrika, a dedicated 26-year-old female social worker who is making waves in the field of social welfare. After graduating from Stellenbosch University (SU) in 2019, Ulen has been on a mission to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. Currently serving as a residential social worker at Heartlands Baby Sanctuary in Somerset West, Western Cape, her passion for helping others shines brightly.

Heartlands Baby Sanctuary plays a vital role in the community, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children who have been abandoned, abused, orphaned or neglected. It's here that Ulen has found her calling, dedicating herself to improving the lives of these young ones.

Recently, Ulen was selected to continue her studies with funds from the Stellenbosch Business School Alumni Association Future Fund. This incredible opportunity has allowed her to complete the NPO Management programme, a crucial step in her journey toward becoming a future leader in the field. Ulen expresses her immense gratitude for the generosity and unwavering support she has received, acknowledging that this bursary has opened doors for her to excel and make a lasting impact.

Armed with newfound knowledge and expertise, Ulen is poised to make a significant difference in the lives of those she serves. Her commitment to creating positive change is unwavering, and she is determined to be a beacon of hope for the children under her care.

Ulen's story is not only one of personal achievement but also of resilience and compassion. Despite her challenges, her dedication to making a difference remains steadfast. Ulen is an inspiration to us all through her work at Heartlands Baby Sanctuary and her continued pursuit of excellence.
