Interacting with individuals from all walks of life.

2. What is your favourite thing about being a woman?
There’s so many things to choose from – the ability to inspire, to teach, and to nurture. The freedom to be who I was destined to be.
The courage to persevere and the ability to remain strong when strong is the only choice one has.

3. What in your life has brought or given you the greatest satisfaction/fulfilment?
Being a mother.

4. Who has been your role model and why?
In today’s modernity, every woman strives to be a role model and thereby paving the way for young women.
For the key to leadership is influence, not authority.

5. Words of wisdom you live by to share with fellow USB colleagues?
Sometimes God will put a Goliath in your life, for you to find the David within you.
The only time you should ever look back, is to see how far you’ve come.

Laura Kirsten,
Brand & Digital Manager: USB-ED

1. What is your favourite thing about being a woman?
Being able to be strong, courageous and a warrior woman – but at the same time being able to be filled with compassion, love and tenderness.

2. What has been your best lived experience ever?
Living and travelling abroad in Asia. After I graduated from Stellenbosch University I went to live and work in Taiwan for 3 years.
The opportunity to live in a country where things smell different, sound different and look different took me out of my comfort zone
and presented me with opportunities to grow and develop in ways I’d never imagined. It was also where I met my husband and so
our travels around Asia will always hold a very special place in my heart.

3. How do you go the extra mile at work?
I try to find new and improved ways of doing things to optimize on time, energy and resources.

Brigitte Schwartz – She is a leader who is an inspiration to her team, cares about their growth and development
and inspires those around her to excellence.
