National Database of Dispute Settlement

The ACDS is compiling a National Database of Dispute Settlement Practitioners (mediators / conciliators and arbitrators).

The database will serve to:

  • establish and develop the Profession of Dispute Settlement
  • advance the adoption of uniformed, internationally aligned professional standards for the profession
  • develop a community between members of the profession, that will stimulate thought and the exchange of ideas
  • assist with capacity building and skills development of members of the profession
  • facilitate the role of the ACDS as a knowledge partner to members of the profession.

Once the National Accreditation Standard is finalised, the Standard will be applied to the National Database, and all members of the database who are interested will be awarded accreditation in accordance with the Standard (whether it be as a professional or as a trainee).

The ACDS is an academic institution. The ACDS is not an ADR Service Provider, and does not facilitate contact between disputants and dispute settlement practitioners. We do provide links to ADR Service Providers who offer such services, click here.

Application for inclusion in the National Database

The ACDS would like to invite all dispute settlement practitioners to apply for inclusion in the National Database of Dispute Settlement Practitioners.

All mediators, conciliators, arbitrators, ombudsmen, dispute facilitators -whether your involvement is full-time or part-time, or even if you are an aspiring practitioner - are encouraged to apply for inclusion.

The application form can be downloaded here.

There is no cost involved in registering on the database. Persons registered on the database will from time to time receive a newsletter and will be kept informed of training opportunities, conferences and other events in the field of dispute settlement.
