Doctoral Research Training Programme
Prepare yourself for a PhD
Once a year, the USB offers the 5-day Doctoral Research Training Programme (DRTP) for students to prepare themselves for a PhD. The DRTP is applicable to PhD students in any field of study and from any university or business school.
Introductory Module
This module is aimed at prospective PhD candidates and covers subjects such as:
- The philosophy of research
- How to start with a PhD
- Academic databases
- The research process
- Developing a research topic.
Advanced Module
This module is aimed at candidates who have already started with a PhD. It covers subjects such as:
- The research proposal
- Proposal writing
- Quantitative and qualitative research
- Academic writing.
Who should attend?
Prospective PhD candidates and candidates who have already started with a PhD The DRTP is compulsory for USB PhD students.
About the facilitator
The programme is facilitated by Prof Arthur Money, research director at Henley Management College, UK, as well as by other experts in the field of research.
Fee structure
The DRTP fees for 2013 are:
