Structure and content

CORE SUBJECTS AND ELECTIVES (subject to curriculum changes)

The MDevF is a modular programme with four study blocks spread over two years. It covers various core subjects and electives. Students also need to complete a research report and choose three electives. Students will receive 90 credits for course work and 50 credits for a research report.

  • Core subjects: Corporate Governance, Quantitative Methods, Political and Economic Dimensions of Development in Africa, Research Methodology, Issues in Banking and Finance, Project Finance, Course Methodology, Quantitative Methods, and Small-scale Enterprise Development
  • Electives: Microfinance, Environmental Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Emerging Financial Markets, Public Sector Finance, Project Management, Africa Country Risk and Return Analysis, Corporate Finance, HR Issues in Development Finance, and Business Forecasting
