MPhil in Futures Studies

The MPhil (Futures Studies) is designed to expose participants to:

• The nature of global change, its rapid pace and its ever-increasing complexity
• An understanding of the forces and trends that shape the future
• A systemic and multi-disciplinary approach to managing organisational strategies so as to create a desired future

The programme consists of seven modules and a study project (mini-thesis):

• Introduction to Futures Studies
• Scanning the Environment
• Qualitative and Quantitative Futures Research Methods
• The Use of the Systems Approach in Futures Studies
• Demographics
• Technology Futures
• Advanced Futures Studies
